Joining the MxCC community in 2016, Anastasia Pych began her career in human resources at the CT Department of Developmental Services (DDS) in 2001. She was primarily responsible for the implementation of an innovative online recruitment program for direct service workers, which was available to nonprofit private provider agencies as well as the DDS human resources staff. This included marketing the recruitment tool, increasing the number of job seekers enrolled in the online recruitment program, and improving functionality of the system. In addition, she provided human resources generalist support to agency staff.

In 2004, Anastasia transitioned to the CT Department of Children and Families (DCF), where she held various positions within the human resources division, each with increasing responsibility. Most recently, she served as the assistant director of human resources for the agency, which employed approximately 3,400 people in a variety of professional and paraprofessional roles. Anastasia managed several human resources professionals who were responsible for providing a complex array of labor relations and human resources generalist services to a large workforce. This included guiding the staff through complex employee misconduct investigations, grievances and discrimination cases. In addition, she was responsible for analyzing existing human resources processes and streamlining the work to ensure uniformity among the staff, and ultimately fair and consistent outcomes for the employees.

With an interest in organizational climate and employee engagement, Anastasia is committed to providing MxCC supervisors and managers with the tools necessary to ensure optimal organizational well-being.

After earning a bachelor’s in social/rehabilitation services from Assumption College in Massachusetts, Anastasia received a master’s in public administration from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. She is affiliated with the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR).

Off-campus, she spends quality time with her husband and two young daughters. They love to vacation ANYWHERE! Anastasia also loves cooking—trying new recipes, especially with fresh, home-grown vegetables. She recently made her own basil pesto sauce and garlic dill pickles. “They were delicious!” she adds.
