Before coming to MxCC, Jill was the Health Information Management program coordinator at Bristol Community College in Fall River, MA; adjunct faculty member at Three Rivers Community College; and former adjunct at Manchester Community College. Prior to her career in education, she served as an HIM director and in other health information management positions at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Westerly (RI) Hospital, Natchaug Hospital in Mansfield Center, Conn., and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London, Conn.

Jill earned a master of science in data analytics from Southern New Hampshire University; a master of library science from Southern Connecticut State University; a bachelor’s in general studies from the University of Connecticut; and a certificate in health information technology from the American Health Information Management Association. She has been certified as a registered health information technician (RHIT) since 2001, and has served on multiple committees of the American Health Information Management Association.

“The Health Information Management degree program at Middlesex Community College brings both value for the community and opportunities for the students,” Jill explains. “As the use of electronic health records has grown, demand for individuals with the skills to manage the accessibility, quality, privacy and security of electronic health information has grown. Students completing this degree will have the skills to enter the healthcare workforce and meet the complex demands of managing electronic health information.”
