Shelly Figueroa is an Educational Assistant for the (CAMI) Connecticut Advanced Manufacturing Initiative grant. At work her responsibilities include but are not limited to collecting data for the program and writing quarterly reports. At home her responsibilities (and greatest joys) are being a wife to her husband Alex and a mommy to her two-year-old daughter, Aadi. She also loves serving at her church and baking gluten free treats at home.
Prior to working at Middlesex and becoming a mom Shelly worked in banking. Her role as a teller at Berkshire Bank got her through College and gave her a foundational understanding of finances. She loved her time there and still maintains a relationship with her coworkers.
Now at Middlesex she is working hard to improve the Manufacturing program and bring students in who could benefit from a secure career in the growing Connecticut Manufacturing Industry. So far she has really enjoyed learning some of the ins and outs of machining and programming and she anticipates learning much more. All in all she truly appreciates working with her CAMI team members as well as the students she encounters every day.
