Middlesex Community College Mourns the Loss of Kristen Milano

Faculty, staff, and students at Middlesex Community College are saddened by the death of Kristen Milano of Southington, who passed away when an apparent prank turned deadly and she lost her life in an apartment fire.

“Our campus is extremely dismayed by the news of Ms. Milano’s passing,” said Dr. Anna Wasescha, president of Middlesex Community College. “Our deepest sympathies are with Kristen’s family and friends during this time.”

“What happened to Kristen Milano is a tragedy and a shock,” said Christine Ruggiero, assistant professor of English. “She was a student in my class in the spring, and the students and I became quite a tight-knit group because of the small class size.  She was a sweet young woman who did all of her work, and with a smile.  Her death is a loss to all who knew her.  I am deeply saddened by her passing.”

Founded in 1966, Middlesex Community College, located in Middletown, Conn. is part of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities System. In all it does, Middlesex Community College strives to be the college of its community.
