Toastmasters provides tools to boost your career

The Middlesex County Toastmasters Club is hosting an Open House on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 7:00 pm. The event will take place at Middlesex Community College located at 100 Training Hill Road, Chapman Hall, Upper Level Room #808A&B, Middletown, CT 06457.

This exciting event is open to the public and is free to attend. Doors will open at 6:15 pm for networking and light refreshments and the event will start promptly at 7:00 pm.

The keynote speaker for the evening is Jerry Aiyathurai, a member of the Central Connecticut Advanced Toastmasters Club. Jerry was ranked in the top 10 public speakers in the world out of 25,000 in the 2005 World Championship of Public Speaking for Toastmasters.

In his profession as a management consultant, Jerry has coached leaders on communication issues such as feedback loops. He utilizes some of these concepts in his Toastmaster evaluations, and he uses Toastmaster speaking skills to aid his work.

Jerry will present a speech entitled “A Toastmasters Journey” which will tell his story of how Toastmasters has helped enhance his communication and leadership skills. Jerry will also teach the audience how to effectively provide constructive feedback to help speakers improve their skills.

This is definitely an event you will not want to miss!
