Be a part of the MxCC Journalism Club and have your voice heard throughout campus. There’s nothing like seeing your name printed above a story you’ve written, a photo you’ve taken, or a design you’ve created.
By being a part of the club you will have the opportunity to write for the school newspaper, The Flying Horse. It’s a way for your stories to keep students informed, help perfect your writing skills, and build your resume.
Club members have a chance to cover campus and community events, write opinion pieces, and tell feature stories.
If you don’t want to write but still want to be involved, there are other opportunities for you. The Flying Horse needs graphic designers, editors, photographers, marketers and help with other related positions.
The Journalism Club is a fantastic way to meet other students while staying active on campus. And whether your goal is to become a journalist or not, practicing quality writing will help you to succeed in any profession you choose.
So stop by for a meeting. The club meets Mondays at 12:30 p.m. in room 415, Snow Hall. You can also email the advisors of the club, John Shafer, at firstname.lastname@example.org or Adam Chiara, email@example.com if you have any questions.
So come tell your story. See you at the club.
Adam Chiara is an adjunct instructor at MxCC. He teaches new media production and journalism.
