In the spirit of civic engagement, MxCC is participating in its first  Habitat for Humanity house build on Saturday, May 18, 2013. We are looking for volunteers to join the MxCC Team. The house is located on the corner of Liberty and Prospect Street in Middletown.

The MxCC Team will be doing wall framing. Don’t worry–you don’t need any particular skills. There will be site and construction crew leaders to lead the effort.

The build starts at 8:30am and ends at 3:30pm.  Lunch will be provided. We prefer that you devote the day to the effort so we have a full team the entire day.  Depending on the number of people who sign up, we may be able to make some adjustments. We are hoping to have a team of 10-12 people, so please spread the world.

If you’re interested, email Judy Mazgulski, director of Student Activities, at jmazgulski@mxcc.edu  or 860-343-5868. This is a great project for students and anyone who wants to contribute to the college and community.  Check out the Habitat for Humanity website for more info.
