Middlesex Community College recently received a $1,000 donation from Price Chopper’s Golub Foundation. This contribution will go towards the College’s Transitional Year Program (TYP). The funds will be used to purchase backpacks filled with school supplies for the incoming TYP students. Each student will receive a backpack, a calculator, a planner, a flash drive, and a dictionary upon enrolling in the program.
“Everyone involved in the Transitional Year Program is thrilled to receive this donation from Price Chopper’s Golub Foundation,” said Professor Terry McNulty, assistant professor of English and coordinator of the TYP program. “Their generosity will allow us to fund more than 30 TYP students in the next school year and will make a meaningful difference in the academic experience of those students as they take their first steps toward earning their college degree.”
The Transitional Year Program is a unique program that provides enhanced support to first year students. This program brings students together to create a sense of community as they work through classes specifically designed to deepen their learning and reinforce class materials.
