Did you know that MxCC offers a winter session?

What is it?

This is a very intensive “semester” that runs from December 28, 2015 to January 14, 2016.  Classes are offered both online and on-ground.

Why would I want to take a course during my winter break?

  • The semester is short. Thirteen days and you will have earned three credits!
  • The class size is small.
  • The atmosphere is more personal as the professor has more opportunity to get to know the students.
  • Difficult concepts can get more one on one attention.
  • You can take courses online in the comfort of your warm home.
  • It will help you graduate sooner!
  • It’s a great way to play “catch-up” if you’re behind.

What’s the difference between an online or “on ground” winter session course?

Online is ideal if you have job commitments, limited access to a good car in winter weather, or simply want to still feel a bit like you are on your break. On ground classes have a personalized feel to them; you will get to know the professor and the other students well–there’s sort of a “we’re all in this together!” atmosphere.

What’s happening this year in winter session?

If you need to {or want to} take English 102, you might also consider the winter session.  You’ll get to spend your winter break sitting around reading and discussing some of the best short fiction ever-written!  Professor Floridia always invites lively discussions and has admitted that his 102 winter classes have been some of his absolute favorites to teach.

If you need to {or want to} take a public speaking course, the winter session may be an ideal time to complete this quickly.  Professor McNulty is fantastic and will make the class fun. Plus there’s the added benefit of having fewer classmates to get up and speak in front of.

There are a whole slew of online classes to choose from!

Hope to see you this winter!
