Meriden Mayor Manny Santo Visit

Professor Lisa Moody welcomes recently elected mayor of Meriden, Manny Santos. Mayor Santos will visit MxCC’s Meriden Center on Tuesday, February 11 from 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Mayor Santos will discuss current events with students of Middlesex Community College and speak about his story including the success that has led to the Mayor’s office. Students will have an opportunity to have an open  with Mayor Santos about what they feel is important in their lives. Here are a few facts about Mayor Manny Santos:

    • Mayor Manuel “Manny” Santos is a husband to Maryann and a father of two school aged children in the Meriden public school system
    • His wife Maryann was among the first graduates of MxCC’s OD&D program!
    • Profession: Mechanical Engineer – problem solver
    • Small business owner – entrepreneur
    • Education: University of Connecticut, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
    • Attended Hartford public schools
    • Active member of Door of Hope Community Church, Yalesville
    • Desert Storm Veteran, United States Marine Corps
    • Proud immigrant
    • Community involvement includes past Cubmaster, Cub Scouts Pack 29, Meriden; serves on Washington Middle School Governance Council; Meriden Republican Town Committee, Secretary, and numerous other volunteer projects
