Pieper-Olson Veterinary Hospital
Dr. Virginia Nunez Olson is a Connecticut native who majored in Animal Science at the University of Connecticut, and received her DVM degree from the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Her main interests in veterinary medicine are small animal internal medicine, preventative medicine and geriatric care. As co-owner of Pieper-Olson Veterinary Hospital, she is interested in many practice management issues, especially staff development and the formation of policies and procedures that improve client service and practice efficiency.
When not working in or “on” the practice she enjoys cooking, hiking, running and growing flowers, “the food for the soul”. She relaxes and rejuvenates by traveling with her husband Dr. Robert Olson, including visiting their two adult children in San Francisco and NYC.
Dr. Robert Olson was born and raised in Portland Connecticut. After graduating from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1981 he returned “home” to the Pieper Veterinary Hospital in Middletown. In 1987 he and his wife Virginia purchased the hospital from Dr. Pieper. Dr. Olson’s work interests include surgery, small animal medicine, and practice management. Keeping abreast of the changes in Veterinary Medicine and providing opportunities for those in the field currently keep him busy. Outside of work he enjoys sailing, cycling, and traveling.
