Tanya Henderson, who attended Middlesex Community College 1989–91, is an international human rights lawyer. She is the founder and executive director of Mina’s List, a non-profit organization to realize women’s equal and substantive political representation in national governments around the world.
Previously, Tanya was the public policy director for Women’s Action for New Directions (WAND) in Cambridge, Mass..
In 1994, she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts in Boston and received a juris doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 200.
At Middlesex, Tanya served as president of the Student Senate and was instrumental in the creation of the Human Rights Park which stands at the entrance to Snow Hall.
“I will always be grateful to Middlesex for giving me the second chance I needed in my younger life,” said Tanya. “Those years in community college helped me to develop confidence as a learner; they were critical in my journey.”
