Shelly Figueroa is an educational assistant for the (CAMI) Connecticut Advanced Manufacturing Initiative grant. Her responsibilities include collecting data for the program and writing quarterly reports.
Prior to Middlesex, Shelly worked in banking. Her role as a teller at Berkshire Bank got her through college and gave her a foundational understanding of finances. She loved her time there and still maintains a relationship with her coworkers.
At Middlesex, she is working hard to improve the manufacturing program and bring students in who could benefit from a secure career in the growing Connecticut manufacturing industry. She enjoys learning some of the ins and outs of machining and programming, and she anticipates learning much more. Shelly appreciates working with her CAMI team members as well as the students she encounters every day.
At home, Shelly’s responsibilities and greatest joys are being a wife to her husband Alex and a mother to their two daughters. She also loves serving at her church and baking gluten-free treats at home.
