Mar 2, 2017 – On March 1, Middlesex Community College and Post University administrators gathered on the Middletown campus to announce a formal transfer articulation agreement between the two colleges. The schools agreed to partner in the correlation of academic programs and facilitate the transfer of MxCC students to Post University for those pursuing a number of baccalaureate degrees.
MxCC President Anna Wasescha and Post Academic Provost Elizabeth Johnson signed the agreement document at a 12:30 p.m. ceremony and luncheon. Several Post academic deans and program directors also attended along with many MxCC faculty and staff.
“Articulation agreements are by definition partnerships. Post University has worked hand in hand with our faculty to create a comprehensive agreement that includes 11 Middlesex programs, with more agreements in the works. We are grateful to Post for being such engaged partners,” said President Wasescha.
The MxCC associate degree programs eligible for transfer to the Post programs are accounting, biology studies, biotechnology, business administration, communication studies, computer information technology, environmental science, human services, management information systems, marketing and psychology. Included in the agreement is a list of the 23 corresponding baccalaureate degree programs available at Post.
Articulation is a term used to describe the process that facilitates and simplifies the transition of a student from one educational institution to another. To be eligible, students must complete required coursework and graduate from MxCC with an associate degree from one of these programs. While MxCC also has articulation agreements with the state universities and other four-year colleges such as the University of Saint Joseph and the University of Hartford, the transfer of MxCC credits does not depend on a formal articulation agreement. Colleges and universities in Connecticut and throughout the country will accept transfer credits from any regionally accredited college or university.
