MxCC to Offer Manufacturing Classes at Vinal Tech High School

Jan. 17, 2019 — Middlesex Community College (MxCC) has announced a partnership to offer two manufacturing classes at Vinal Technical High School, 60 Daniels St. in Middletown, starting in the Spring 2019 semester. The two classes, MFG*120 Metrology and MFG*166 Benchwork, will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning on January 30, 2019.

Both of these classes at Vinal Technical High School can be used as unrestricted electives, open to all MxCC current and prospective students, not just those already in the manufacturing program. Neither course has prerequisite requirements. Students can apply and register by contacting enrollment services at 860-343-5719/ 866-526-6008 (toll-free).

Vinal Tech recently renovated their manufacturing lab. As part of the collaboration, MxCC will supplement their facility with training equipment that was acquired in 2016 using funds from a Connecticut Advanced Manufacturing Initiative (CAMI) grant that MxCC received in 2014.

Since 2015, MxCC also offers manufacturing classes at Wilcox High School in Meriden. The new collaboration with Vinal Tech will provide an additional convenient learning location for MxCC students in the Middletown area.

Additional manufacturing classes, times, and days may be added at Vinal Tech for the Fall 2019 semester.
