Animal Handling and Kennel Care

This 24 hour program is a great introduction for students interested in working in the animal care industry and exploring employment outside of veterinary clinics. Students in this program will learn techniques to handle and care for animals in ways that minimize stress and increase animal safety. Graduates can find jobs in Animal Daycare Centers, Kennels and Boarding Facilities, Dog Walking and Training Centers, Groomers, and Retail Businesses.

  • Animal Handling and Restraining Techniques
  • Kenneling, Leash Walking and Animal Carrying
  • Sanitary and Safety protocols
  • Administration of Oral medications
  • Bathing and Grooming
  • Recognizing Behavior Changes and Signs of Distress

Refund Policy

A full tuition refund can be made if you withdraw from your course at least one working day before the course start date. Once the course has started, refunds are only provided under special circumstances and require a written request to the Workforce Development  and Continuing Education Office. They are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. A refund is not guaranteed.
