CareerConneCT provides training needed for high-demand, high-quality careers in Connecticut. Whether you’re looking to get back into the workforce, advance your career, start a new career, or get your first job. CareerConneCT offers skilling, reskilling, and upskilling in growing industries. Depending upon your needs and interests, you can participate in certificate training programs and earn industry-recognized credentials in as little as 5 to 12 weeks and get connected to employers ready to hire you right away!
To get started, you will need to complete 3 simple steps:
- Create an account on the CareerConneCT portal and complete the intake form
- Complete a brief skills inventory
- Work with your assigned CareerConneCT coach to enroll in a training program that is right for you
Career ConneCT is funded by federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding allocated to the Connecticut Office of Workforce Strategy (OWS). Additional information regarding Career ConnCT can be found on their FAQ page.
IT SUPPORT CERTIFICATE
The IT Support Certificate is designed to give learners the skills they need for an entry-level IT role. The certificate course teaches skills including how to build a computer and install an operating system, system administration and security, networking, and troubleshooting. This certificate is composed five classes that work in progression from beginner level to advanced level. Participants that take this certificate will also earn five individual industry recognized certificates in addition to the overall IT Support Certificate.
Learning Outcomes:
- Students will learn how to use the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
- Students will achieve an intermediate level of understanding on all five applications. Students will be tested on each application to ensure their understanding of each application.
- The A+ certification validates understanding of the most common hardware and software.
- The general skills and knowledge required to support complex IT infrastructures.
- Knowledge and skills needed to confidently design, configure, manage and troubleshoot any wired and wireless network configuration.

CAREERCONNECT IT TRACK: WEB DEVELOPER CERTIFICATE
A Web Developer is responsible for ensuring websites look good and function properly. Web developers collaborate with website and graphic designers, monitor website traffic, troubleshoot website problems when they arise, and update websites as necessary. These classes are offered in a progression from beginner to advanced level which will also enable participants to earn four individual industry recognized certificates in addition to the overall Web Developer Certificate.
Learning Outcomes:
- Students will learn HTML programming for the web
- Students will learn Cascading Style Sheet formatting.
- Students will learn some of the most popular web tools such as WordPress and Wix
- More advanced topics such as CMS and Building Dynamic Websites will also be covered.
- Students will demonstrate their proficiency by maintaining their own portfolio.

CAREERCONNECT IT TRACK: INFORMATION SECURITY CERTIFICATE
A security certificate is used to provide the security level of a website to general visitors, Internet service providers (ISPs) and Web servers. A security certificate is also known as a digital certificate and as a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate. These classes are offered in a progression from beginner to advanced level which will also enable participants to earn six individual industry recognized certificates in addition to the overall Information Security Certificate.

CAREERCONNECT IT TRACK: NETWORK & CLOUD CERTIFICATION
This certification is intended for individuals with five years of hands-on experience architecting and implementing network solutions. Candidates should have experience with AWS security best practices, AWS storage options, and AWS networking, have knowledge of advanced networking architectures and interconnectivity options, and be able to design, implement and optimize global, cloud networks. These classes are offered in a progression from beginner to advanced level which will also enable participants to earn four individual industry recognized certificates in addition to the overall Network and Cloud Certification.
Learning Outcomes:
- Able to build solutions for account security,
- Monitoring, automation
- Understanding of AWS services like AWS Lambda, AWS X-Ray, Amazon Virtual Private Cloud, and more.
