Download MS Office

Your professor may upload MS Word file, MS PowerPoint File, or MS Excel file in the course. Meanwhile, for class assignments, you may use MS Word file to write your paper, make presentation using MS PowerPoint, or work on a project using MS Excel. To view these files in its orignal format and work on these files, you will need to install Microsoft Office application to your computer.

Open up a web browser such as Google Chrome.
Type "portal.office.com".
Enter your NetID and Password and click on Sign In.
If you do not see "Install Office" link at the upper right corner, you will click on Office icon at the upper left corner.
Pull down the arrow next to Install Office. Select the first option to download the MS Office.
After the OfficeSetup.exe file is completed downloading, you will click on Open file and follow the steps to install the MS Office to your computer.

Special Notes

Although you may view a MS Office file using Alternnative Format in Blackboard, the alternative format view may not reflect its original outlook. To view a MS Word file, a MS PowerPoint file, or a MS Excel file in its original look, you should install MS Office to your computer.
