Opening Reception on Tuesday, October 2, 5 to 7 p.m. in Pegasus Gallery

Judith de Graffenried, “Veil of Ages” 10 x 13 inches, acrylic & Photoshop.

            In recent years Judith de Graffenried has been working in a variety of media including oils, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, and digital applications. These works range from direct paintings from the figure in watercolors to “channeled,” intuitive acrylics with suggested imagery manipulated further in Photoshop. Her recent oils have been inspired by studies of nature developed further in the studio. In short, it is the energies of nature that inspire her work.

            Judith de Graffenried is associate professor of fine arts/graphic design and program coordinator at Middlesex Community College. She earned a B.A.at the University of South Carolina, an M.A.T. at the University of South Carolina, and an M.F.A. at City University of New York. She also attended a year-long painting program at the Art Academy of Munich, Germany, and studied painting at Queens College and Indiana University. She has exhibited her paintings and received awards in more than 50 national juried exhibitions.

The Pegasus Gallery is located in the Jean Burr Smith Library on the first floor of Chapman Hall.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
