1718-004 Approval for Social Phenomena Competency for Foreign Languages

The proposal is tabled.

Committee pointed out that

1. The two classes listed in the proposal no longer exist at MxCC.

2. Basic level (e.g. 1st year) Spanish does not meet the standards in the Social Phenomenon rubric.

Suggestion: To explore other ways to integrate foreign languages into general education requirements or into those programs that a foreign language would be particularly beneficial.
