Students and guidance counselors came from Cochinchaug Regional (Durham-Middlefield), Cromwell, Haddam-Killingworth, Middletown, Platt (Meriden), Portland, Valley Regional (Chester-Deep River-Essex), and Vinal Tech high schools, as well as from the adult education programs in Middletown and Meriden.

Middlesex faculty led classroom presentations in computer information technology, early childhood education, environmental science, manufacturing, new media, and veterinary technology. The prospective students also toured the broadcast and studio facilities in the cutting-edge Center for New Media and participated in virtual reality and 360-degree video demonstrations. Advisors were also on hand for academic counseling and financial aid.

Daniel Fox of Old Saybrook, Conn, added, “I attended because my teachers said it would be a good experience, and they were right! Middlesex is a good value for what you pay for.”

Rebecca Davis, MxCC enrollment services coordinator, said as many as eight of the attendees submitted applications after their visit. She also heard feedback from counselors and teachers who mentioned the event was “excellent and very well organized” and “encourages students to explore and enroll.”
