May 5, 2017 – The Middlesex Community College Foundation invites local runners to participate in the 14th Annual Cap and Gown 5K Run/Walk to be held on Friday, May 12, 2017, at the MxCC Middletown campus on 100 Training Hill Road. Race-day registration begins at 4:30 p.m., with a free Kids Fun Run starting at 5:30 p.m. The USATF certified 5K will begin at 6 p.m.
Register online at https://mxcc.edu/5k/. Enter before May 9 and pay only $20. After May 9 through race day, the entry fee will be $25. MxCC student fee is $15. Kids Run is free. Prizes will be awarded to overall champions (men and women), alumni, students, faculty/staff winners (men and women), and the top three men and women in each age division of the 5K. The awards ceremony will be held at 6:45 p.m.
The scenic 5K run/walk (3.1 miles) follows along beautiful tree-lined roads along the reservoirs behind the Middletown campus. Free tank tops will be given to the first 100 registrants. And MxCC’s 50th anniversary celebration continues with a DJ, photo booth, temporary tattoos, pizza, goodies and fun for all! Race is chip-timed by Empire Timing Co. Cap and gown costumes are welcome with prizes for the best ones.
