Our convenient campus locations in Middletown and Meriden, Connecticut, are great places to learn, build leadership skills, get involved, and make life-long friendships.
MxCC’s Student Activities Office (SAO) is where the “fun” begins. We coordinate a wide variety of social, cultural, recreational, leadership and special activities to assist students in their life outside the academic classroom and enrich the campus community.
Many of these events take place during our “Community Period.” This is an open, 40-minute timeslot every Monday and Wednesday (12:30 – 1:10 p.m.) when students are able to participate in social, academic and co-curricular activities. Class periods follow at 1:20-2:40 p.m.
Our services and programming create a welcoming environment where students can meet other students, faculty and staff, gain hands-on leadership, explore personal and career-related interests, and have fun.
Students also get to know each other by meeting up, sharing lunch, and hanging out in one of our student lounges, located in Founders Hall, adjacent to the cafeteria, or in the Founders Pavilion, or the little lounge spaces in Snow Hall and Wheaton Hall.
The Student Lounge and Founders Pavilion in Founders Hall are also used to host forums, performances, and presentations by students, faculty, staff and invited guests. The Student Activities and Student Senate posting boards are also located in this area. If you are looking for a job, trying to find a roommate, or are interested in the latest news and upcoming events and activities on and off campus, the lounge is the place to be. It also features a Game Room with a ping-pong table, a pool table, foosball, comfortable game pub tables, and open space for students to use and enjoy. (All lounges offer free Wi-Fi services for laptop computers and other mobile devices.)
Get involved in campus life! Students are encouraged to participate in (or even start new) clubs and organizations, the MxCC Student Senate, and other various special events sponsored by Student Activities.
