Courageous Conversations: Spring 2021 (VIRTUAL)

Mark your calendars for 12:30pm on the fourth Monday of each month: January 25, February 22, March 22, and April 26.  We will send reminders one week prior to each event, with virtual meeting links (WebEx or Teams).

Even though we’re only in the third week of the new year, 2021 has already proven to be stunningly eventful.  We have a lot to talk about: Riots at the U.S. Capitol, racism, the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, a deepening chasm in our political discourse and culture, a COVID vaccine, and an increasingly contagious coronavirus that has now taken 400,000 American lives and many more worldwide.

February:

This month, we’ll conclude the discussion we began in January about the riots at the U.S. Capitol, the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, and the impeachment proceedings against former President Donald Trump.

Please join us Monday, February 22, at 12:30 via Teams for our next Conversation:

Dear MxCC Students,

Today, the Board of Regents voted to require all students who participate in on-campus activities this fall to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. That means if you plan on attending class or extracurricular activities in-person, you must first get vaccinated.

The vaccines that are currently authorized in the United States are safe, highly effective, and critical to resuming normal operations at our campuses this fall.

If you have not already done so, now is the time get vaccinated. With more infectious, more severe variants becoming more and more prevalent, getting your shot is the best way to protect yourself and your family.

View the Connecticut Vaccine Portal to find a FREE vaccine provider near you (ct.gov)

More information is available on the CSCU website: View Vaccine Requirement FAQs (ct.edu)

We will follow up with additional information on how students can document their vaccination status prior to the beginning of the semester.

Sincerely,

Dr. Steven Minkler, CEO
