Creative Writing Workshops: Take a Page From My Book Series

Join MxCC students and alumni, faculty advisors, and the Listening Lounge team as we come together to work through sharing our stories-or pieces of them-through creative writing. No experience needed, only courage and the willingness to explore!

All sessions will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Pavilion. Refreshments will be provided.

Our facilitator’s Marisol Garcia Bio:  

From prison education to public policy, our workshop facilitator, Marisol Garcia, is a Center for Prison Education (CPE) Middlesex Community College graduate, a former Creative Writing student, and a current senior at Trinity College where she is majoring in Public Policy and Law.  Garcia, who will graduate from Trinity in May 2022, holds a position as a public policy intern with the Seiche Center at Yale and plans on attending law school once she graduates. In February 2021, she contributed to the P.A.R.E. Project, reflections on the four principles of social justice through music and spoken word:  Participation, Access, Rights, Equity and in May 2021 was nominated and selected to attend The American Association of University Women’s Conference.  Through the acclaimed York Correctional Writing Program, Garcia completed a residency with Wally Lamb from 2008-2010 and 2018-2019.
