MxCC Begins In-Person Spring Semester January 21

Jan. 18, 2022 (Middletown, Conn.) — Middlesex Community College (MxCC) will begin the spring 2022 semester on Friday, January 21, in person as originally scheduled.

“At MxCC, we have done an exemplary job of keeping our community safe while providing excellent services to our students. I am confident that, with the mitigation measures we have in place, we are in a good position to have another successful semester,” said Steven Minkler, MxCC Chief Executive Officer, in a message to the campus community earlier this month.

Middlesex Community College classes will take place on campus in Middletown (100 Training Hill Road), at their satellite location at Orville H. Platt High School in Meriden (220 Coe Avenue) and online.

The vaccination requirement for students and employees remains in place. Everyone is required to wear a face mask inside campus buildings at all times. Those who are not vaccinated will continue with weekly testing.

Prospective and current students can still enroll and register for spring semester courses. Please visit the college’s website to search for courses or to connect with an advisor.

Students can also attend (in person or virtually) a special Enroll-in-a-Day Event on January 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to meet with an advisor, register for classes, and learn more about academic options and student activities. Additional virtual and in-person registration sessions take place through January 28.

“The bottom line is that we believe on-ground and in-person instruction is the best, most effective way to serve our students, and we are confident we have the plan in place to get it done and get through this surge,” said Terence Cheng, President of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) system.
