Sept. 18, 2023 (Middletown, Conn.) — The Middlesex Community College Foundation is set to host its annual Red Moon Gala on Saturday, October 14. The foundation extends an invitation to the public and community members to participate by becoming sponsors or purchasing tickets. Festivities kick off at 6 p.m. in Chapman Hall, at the CT State Middlesex main campus, located at 100 Training Hill Road, in Middletown.
This year’s gathering aims to generate funds for CT State Middlesex student scholarships while highlighting the college’s collaboration with GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs), a partnership with Meriden Public Schools. This ongoing program commenced with a cohort of Meriden students in 7th grade and continues through their first year in college. The students in the program currently represent the high school Class of 2025.
Attendees at the Red Moon Gala can look forward to engaging in raffle prizes, silent and live auctions, as well as enjoying live musical entertainment, culinary creations, craft beer tasting, wine sampling, and much more.
“We have something really special for entertainment this year, but we’re keeping it a bit of a surprise,” said Kimberly Hogan, CT State Middlesex CEO, who will emcee the event along with Rick Eriksen of the college’s Center for New Media. “I assure you, though, it’s live musical entertainment that will not disappoint.”
In addition to several gift baskets, golf outings and more, auction prizes encompass several overnight trips, including one to Africa, another to the Caribbean, as well as trips to Cape Cod and within Connecticut.
For those interested in becoming a sponsor or purchasing tickets, which are priced at $75 each, please visit the Red Moon Gala website at mxcc.edu/redmoon. General donations to the MxCC Foundation can also be made at mxcc.edu/foundation/giving/.
The purpose of the Middlesex Community College Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, is to support CT State Middlesex and its students by encouraging and securing charitable contributions to the college through the Foundation, and by managing and directing funds for scholarships, program and faculty development, instructional technology and equipment to create a learning environment that fosters student success.
