Endowed Scholarships

The Herbert Levine, MD Endowed

This scholarship is awarded to a graduating student with a love for liberal arts, a commitment to higher education beyond an associate’s degree and with a GPA of 3.7+.

The Beaulieu Endowed

This scholarship was established in 2000-2001 by Suellen Beaulieu in memory of her parents, Rowland and Ruth Beaulieu.  It is awarded to a continuing student in Business Administration with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who needs financial aid to continue his or her education.

The Philip & Amy Wheaton Endowed

The scholarship is funded by the family and friends of MxCC’s founding president, Philip Wheaton, and his wife Amy, a former chairperson of the MxCC Foundation Scholarship Committee.  It is awarded to a returning or graduating student with demonstrated financial need.

The Edie Fuld Endowed

This scholarship was established in 2001 by parents and friends of Edie Fuld to honor her and recognize the compassion, energy, and enthusiasm she showed to both students and colleagues while acting as the MxCC Coordinator of Student Activities.  It is awarded to a continuing student who has demonstrated interest in human services — especially student services– has a GPA of 2.5 and needs financial aid to continue his or her education.

The Boris Burack Endowed

This scholarship was endowed in 2001 by the Foundation to honor the first Chairman of the College’s English Department.  It is awarded to a continuing or graduating student with a GPA of 2.5 or higher who needs financial aid to remain in college and/or continue his/her formal education at a four-year institution.

The Robert A. Chapman Endowed

This scholarship was endowed in 2001 by the Foundation to honor the second President of the College.  It is awarded to a continuing student who has distinguished himself/herself through academic excellence, unusual efforts, or community/ college service.  Financial need may be a deciding factor.

The Deans’ Endowed

This scholarship was endowed in 2001 by the Foundation to honor Deans who have made outstanding and substantial contributions to the College.  An exemple of this is Edward G. Vater, the first MxCC Dean of Students.  It is awarded to a continuing student based on the equally weighted criteria of academic performance, attainment of at least twenty credits at MxCC, financial need and service to the College.

The Faculty Endowed

This scholarship was endowed in 2001 by the Foundation to honor faculty who have been exemplary educators.  Two examples are Richard and Jean Burr Smith. It is awarded to a continuing or graduating student who has distinguished himself/herself through academic excellence, made a contribution to the college community and needs financial aid to continue his/her education.

The Founders Endowed

This scholarship was endowed in 2001 by the Foundation to honor those whose foresight and labor led to the creation of MxCC and to recognize all who have helped nurture that original vision of a college. It is awarded to an outstanding continuing or graduating student who needs financial aid to continue his/her formal education.

The Alumni Endowed

This scholarship is awarded to an entering or returning student who demonstrates financial need to continue education, and has a GPA of 3.0+.

The Martha DePecol Sanner Endowed

This scholarship is awarded to a returning non-traditional student with an interest in the field of allied health demonstrating financial need.

The Catherine L. Dennis Endowed

This scholarship was endowed in 2004 by her husband, George, and their adult children in her memory.  She believed deeply in the value of education.  It is awarded to a woman committed to earning a bachelor’s degree in social work or human services who may be financially unable to do so without this scholarship.

The Gandhi Endowed

This scholarship is awarded to entering or returning students with diverse backgrounds and experiences, who demonstrate academic excellence and are enrolled full-timeFinancial need is preferred, but not required.

The Eames Family Endowed

To be awarded to returning or graduating students of any academic field of study who demonstrate financial need (common sense based as opposed to rigid FAFSA based criteria), and who hold an average or above average cumulative GPA, and who have been active volunteers/leaders while at MxCC and who are committed to continuing their education beyond MxCC, with the ultimate goal of earning a bachelor’s degree.

The Dean Richard Muniz Endowed

It is supported by the family of former MxCC Dean of Continuing Education, Richard M. Muniz. It is presented to a new or continuing Hispanic student, matriculated in a degree program on a full or part-time basis, with a 3.0+ GPA

Raymond S. Robinson Endowed

This award should be split to assist multiple students.  Awarded to a new or returning student with financial need.

Amy Loved Animals Memorial Scholarship

Amy in the water kisses a dolphinThis scholarship was created in memory of Amy. Amy was a vibrant 12 year old who had a big heart, kind soul and a love for animals. She loved all animals and wanted to help them in any way that she could. This scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at Middlesex Community College who has demonstrated a commitment to animal welfare through working with animals as a volunteer or employee.
